About Us

The Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation (formerly Wilson Badejo Foundation) is a registered non-profit organisation based in Lagos, Nigeria. Founded in 2007 by Late Dr. Wilson Badejo; a Veterinarian (by trade) and Preacher (by calling), the foundation provides help and support to the less privileged in the society. At the Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation, we are guided by a core belief that every member of our society deserves a chance to live a good and productive life, so we partner very closely with both individuals and corporations to progressively advocate for a world were hope, inspiration, and opportunity abound for the poor individuals and the underserved communities they live within.

Vision:

A world where hope and inspiration abound for poor and underprivileged members of the society to live a healthy, economically integrated, and productive life.

Mission:

To enrich the quality of life for the less privileged by establishing and supporting initiatives, programmes, and services that create more opportunities for their inclusion and integration into the nation’s economic system.

Over the past 16 years, the foundation has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals in the society by providing hope, help, inspiration, and opportunity to those that need it the most. Some key accomplishments include rehabilitating 2000+ at-risk youth (aka area boys / girls) and placing them in skill acquisition programmes; providing over 500 scholarships awards to brilliant indigent university students; and completing 5+ community development special projects (most notably the renovation of St. Peter Anglican primary school in Abatan, Ogun state). Every year, the Annual Lecture and Scholarship Awards represents our flagship event of the year as we use this event to create greater awareness of the foundation’s mission and raise funds to help support our key objectives.

Our key objectives include the following:

  • Reaching out to the less privileged in our society

  • Providing empowerment via vocational training and skill acquisition programmes

  • Providing counselling to individuals in need of godly counsel

  • Providing opportunities for the educational advancement of brilliant indigent students by the award of scholarships and support arrangements

  • Initiating, encouraging and sustaining selfless service to the society, undertaking activities that will ensure the poor and underprivileged in the society enjoy uninhibited access to assets acquired through the foundation

Our core values and guiding principles are at the center of everything we do at the foundation and revolve around for main pillars including Servant Leadership, Integrity & Accountability, Excellence & Professionalism, and Continuous Advancement. By placing the needs of the foundation and community ahead of ours, we ensure that the less privileged and marginalized groups remain central to our mission (Servant Leadership). We go above and beyond in holding all operational affairs and personnel to the highest ethical standards through proper checks & balances, and appropriate governance (Integrity & Accountability). We strive hard to exceed expectations through our continuous dedication to excellence in personal, professional, and organizational development (Excellence & Professionalism). We always press forward. We adapt quickly and always practice incremental progress over perfection, while incorporating new ideas that advance the legacy (Continuous Advancement).
