Annual Lectures

The Annual Lecture is the Foundation’s flagship thought-leadership event. It was renamed in April 2024 to the Wilson & Yinka Badejo Memorial Lecture to honour and advance the legacy of Rev. Dr. Wilson & Rev. Mrs. Yinka Badejo, whose lifetime commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged continues to inspire us every day.

Held annually since 2008 at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), the lecture convenes a diverse audience of leaders, professionals, academics, students, and change-makers to engage in meaningful dialogue around themes central to nation-building, ethical leadership, personal development, and societal advancement. Each edition features a distinguished keynote speaker who is renowned for insight, influence, and alignment with the Foundation’s values - delivering a compelling address designed to challenge perspectives, inspire action, and foster purposeful living.

Beyond its intellectual engagement, the Memorial Lecture serves as a platform for reinforcing the Foundation’s mission: to preserve legacy, promote excellence, and catalyze initiatives that positively shape individuals and communities. It also provides opportunities for networking, fundraising, and collaboration among attendees who share a commitment to impact-driven leadership.

Through this annual gathering, WYBF continues to sustain the memory of its founder and co-founder, not merely in tribute, but through active investment in ideas, people, and systems that reflect their vision for a better society.
